Dawn M Tuminello OD, obtained her Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1995 after completing a Bachelors Degree (Psychology) from the University of Illinois Chicago. She is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry

After working in Commercial Optometry and transitioning to owning her own franchised practice, “Dr Dawn” as she is endearingly referred to by many of her patients, decided private practice was her true destiny.  

In 2006 Eye Was Framed Eyecare was established.  

Dr Dawn loves getting to know her patients and families.  She enjoys taking the time to listen to your needs and help work with you to find the right answers. With the well-being and health of her patients in mind, she has always sought to offer her patients the very best the industry has to offer.  Her love of technology speaks volumes in the practice and she has steadily grown the practice to meet the growing needs of her patients.

Her research combined with the needs of her patients resulted in offering the best lenses, frames and, more recently, the latest advancements in specialty contact lenses that can correct or control Myopia in younger patients. 

 She is the first and currently the only office in the area to offer Retinal Health Assessments, a non-invasive, deep view of the retina. In addition, she maintains a full scope of instruments and technology necessary to provide a comprehensive examination. 

The latest addition, Envision by Inmode, provides relief for patients suffering from dry eye and complications from MGD and Rosacea.

Dr Dawn frequently lectures to other Optometrists sharing her knowledge as a Contact lens expert for Bausch & Lomb, as well as independent lectures on Macular Degeneration, Practice management, Cataract management, Retina Disease and The Treatment of MGD / Dry Eye with emerging technologies.

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband. Together they love cooking, traveling, planning new adventures and most importantly trying out new restaurants.

She also has a fun creative side.  Not only does she decorate the office for every holiday, but she has also been known to create a few special items for family and friends! 

Dr. Nicole Lang was born and raised in Chicagoland. She graduated with Honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and a minor in Chemistry. In addition, Dr. Lang received a master’s degree from Loyola University in Arts and Medical Sciences. She completed her education with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) graduating Suma Cum Laude. During her time at ICO, she was president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, vice president of the Gold Key International Honor Society and a member of the Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity.

Currently, Dr. Lang holds membership in the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.

Dr. Lang examines patients of all ages for primary eye care, contact lens fitting and ocular disease management. She has a passion for the pediatric population, knowing that early detection of refractive errors and binocular vision disorders can set children up for success in their future endeavors. Dr. Lang also has experience with vision therapy and myopia management.

In her free time, Dr. Lang loves the outdoors, especially long walks with her husband Joe and their dog Stark. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and will never say no to a good read!
